About the Course
This course provides practical skills, concepts, and principles you can take back to the job - along with insights you’ll need to adapt them to specific project environments.

The goal of this course is to achieve quality performance through effective planning and control. We use a process orientation and an analytical, systems-oriented approach to problem solving and decision making. Throughout the course, we integrate the need for collaboration and clear communications among people, often in multiple organizations.

Who Should Attend
This course is for people responsible for managing, leading, coordinating, and working on projects who have limited experience or knowledge of practical, formal project management methods.

You’ll learn how to:

Describe the project management process and its benefits

Use project management vocabulary and terminology

Adobe Connect Pro goes Mobile too

With this release, Connect Pro Mobile offers users mobile access via an iPhone or iPod touch to rich communications including collaborative meetings, training sessions and Web seminars. Connect Pro Mobile was built using a pre-relesase version of Flash and was published as a native iPhone application. In fact, it’s the first publicly available Adobe-authored application that uses this technology.

Plus, because Connect Pro Mobile was created using Flash, we will also be able to use the same code to deliver this application on AIR. So when we release AIR to other devices, this means that Connect Pro Mobile will be available on other mobile devices as well. In fact, last week at Mobile World Congress, we demo’d Connect Pro on a number of devices, including Android.

With Connect Pro Mobile, participants can watch and listen to live presentations including real-time meeting webcam video and screen sharing demonstrations. Mobile users can see who is in the meeting at any given time, and collaborate with others using live text chat. VoIP meeting audio will broadcast straight to iPhone or iPod touch devices over a WiFi or 3G connection. Meeting hosts also have the ability to give participants the option to join a telephone conference call, and even opt to have the conference dial out to the mobile user, eliminating the need to enter complex dialing codes.

The tool is called Prezi, and it allows you to create amazing presentations on the web. This tool is just plain awesome. It’s an entirely Flash-based app that lets you break away from the slide-by-slide approach of most presentations. Instead, it allows you to create non-linear presentations where you can zoom in and out of a visual map containing words, links, images, videos, etc… Good example is Technical Investigation.

Je pense que c’est un bel outil qui pourra s’ajouter aux logiciels que nous utilisons au GTA. Et vous, qu’est ce que vous en pensez?

Technologies mobiles et soins de santé

Je viens de tomber sur la présentation “TED Talk” suivante. Eric Topol présente certaines applications des technologies mobiles au monde des soins de santé. Dans sa présentation, il précise que les inovations qu’on voit présentement sont le fruits d’un “perfect storm”, comprenant, entres autres, le grand nombre d’utilisateurs de dispositifs/téléphones mobiles (4 milliards), une bande passante 3G et la venue des téléphones inteligents (smartphones).

Qu’importe le domaine (santé ou en éducation comme Abdelbasset fait allusion dans son billet portant sur le “Mobile Moodle”), l’utilisation des technologies mobiles est une réalité actuelle.

Pixlr, le photoshop en ligne

Pixlr est un Photoshop like gratuit et entièrement en ligne car développé en Flex… La technologie Flash que j’avais présenté lors de la dernière journée Focus. C’est un compétiteur de PhotoShop Express d’Adobe. Pour le moment, ça ne fait pas grand chose, mais le peu que ça fait, ça le fait bien et c’est assez bluffant. L’interface est très jolie (vista-like), c’est rapide, fluide et c’est gratuit. Ça vaut la peine de le tester et même si je pense que Photoshop a encore de beaux jours devant lui, la fin des applications lourdes se rapproche de plus en plus. Pour un quik Fix, utilisez, Pixlr express!
